Lean by design. Transparent by principle.
Azal Advisors was founded on the conviction that the dominant models of strategic advisory — large consulting firms, politically affiliated advisors, opaque pricing — serve the advisor more than the client. Azal was built to address those shortcomings directly: lean, independent, accountable, and security conscious by design.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Four principles define our approach
Lean
Azal is built on the opposite logic of large consulting firms. Every engagement deploys only the effort that is actually required, privileging expertise. No padding. No expensive offices or additional overhead that require cost recovery. No unnecessary deliverables.
Independent
We are not affiliated with any political principal, party, or institution. On every mandate, Azal incorporates multiple independent expert perspectives and lets the evidence speak — convergences and divergences alike. Clients receive the full picture, not a view filtered through institutional or political orthodoxy.
Accountable
Large organisations dilute accountability and distance senior expertise from client work. At Azal, a principal is accountable, and selected subject matter experts are the team. We don’t engage in work we can’t confidently deliver.
Security conscious
We give the utmost importance to our clients’ security and discretion requirements, operating with strict confidentiality rules, procedures, and platforms.
OUR EDGE
Expertise and structure
Azal combines subject matter expertise with the structured approach of management consulting. Subject matter experts bring deep domain knowledge and analytical rigour within their field. The principal brings structured frameworks, logical architecture, and presentation discipline that translate expert knowledge into a decision-ready output.
Where a mandate requires it, Azal goes beyond desk-based analysis to conduct primary field research: direct on-the-ground engagement with decision-makers, officials, and informed actors whose views are not available in any published source.
The combination of expert knowledge, structured analysis, and primary field intelligence is what allows Azal to produce unique, grounded and decision-aiding insights.
GEOGRAPHIC REACH
Deep knowledge grounded in direct presence
Azal’s expertise and network are concentrated in three interconnected regions. Clients come from across the world. What matters is not their geography but the relevance of Azal’s knowledge and access to their specific mandate.

Gulf
Deep analytical knowledge of Gulf political economy, energy policy, and bilateral cooperation frameworks. Years of direct regional presence inform a nuanced understanding of the actors, dynamics, and fault lines that shape decision-making across the region.
Ukraine and Eastern Europe
Conflict dynamics, sovereign risk, reconstruction investment, and NATO’s eastern flank. Direct regional engagement over an extended period has built a granular understanding of the political landscape and the forces shaping it.
Eastern Mediterranean
Maritime security, energy corridors, and the EU-Middle East interface. Greece as a strategic node connecting European institutional networks with Eastern Mediterranean and Gulf dynamics.
EXPERTISE
Vetted specialists and practioners
Azal Advisors works with a network of dozens of high profile subject matter experts — academics, think tankers, former government officials, past or present members of international organizations and civil society, and private sector executives. Every expert has signed a framework agreement with the firm covering confidentiality, conflict of interest, and engagement terms. Experts are selected for each mandate based on the specific requirements of the engagement, not on availability or cost. The network’s expertise spans across geopolitics, energy, economics, technology, diplomacy, and defense, with particular depth across the Middle East, Asia, Eastern Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe.
